Vic Lade Retirement

Vic Lade began his railroad career in 1973 with River Terminal Railway.  He left there in 1981 when he was hired in at Cuyahoga Valley steel mill.  After 20 years of dedicated work at the mill, in 2001 Vic came over to CSX .Vic was a proud locale comity man to the TWU. Vic retired on July 3 2015 from CSX.  Vic was a inspiration to all the new up and coming Carmen. He was a good guy who could be looked up to, he is going to greatly be missed .

Rules governing the nomination and election of officers for the Local 2019

TO ALL TRANSPORT WORKERS UNION OF AMERICA MEMBERS

The rules governing the nomination and election of officers for the Local 2019, Cleveland, Ohio are as follows:

All members in good standing will be eligible to become a candidate, nominate, and elect (cast ballots) in the local elections of officers which include the offices of President, Vice-President , Recording Secretary, Financial Treasurer, and also Section Chairman, as well as for Alternate Delegate to the 2016 TWU Convention. To run office for any of the above listed positions you must have been a member in good standing in the local for the past 12 months preceding the nomination.

Only members working in their section will be allowed to nominate and elect officers of their section, or committeemen. There are two (2) sections, Ashtabula, and the Cleveland Section (Macedonia Shop (2), Collinwood, and Rockport-Fairlane).

The person elected as section chairman will be on the Executive Board. Cleveland Section has a Vice Section Chairman position up for election as well.

Nominations of officers of Local 2019 and section officer for the Ashtabula Section and Committeemen will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 2:00pm and 3:30 pm at the Crows Nest Lounge at East 6th st. and Route 11, Ashtabula, Oh.

Nominations of officers for the Local 2019, Cleveland Section Chairman and Vice Section Chairman, and committeemen for the Cleveland Section, will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 12:30 pm and 4:15 pm at the membership meeting at the Country Inn and Suites, 7820 Capital Blvd. Macedonia Oh.

All nominations will be made from the floor at each of the meetings.
Anyone nominated and not present must notify the Recording Secretary Eric Strodtbeck within
24 hours after the nominations of his intention to accept the nomination.
The election will be held by Mail Ballots, and all ballots will be counted.
There will be no write in candidates allowed.
All ballots disfigured or improperly marked will be void.

The election, counting of ballots will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015, 4:30pm at Best Value Inn, 14043 Brookpark Rd., Cleveland Oh during the membership meeting.

Candidates may have an observer present at their own expense.

Reminder: All Members make sure the local has your correct mailing address, as ballots go out to the address on file in the union office.

Local 2019 Veterans kick off a Fund Raiser

Local 2019 Veterans Committee will be raising funds for Operation Military Embrace for 2015. The Committee will be selling tickets for baskets to be drawn at the local’s picnic. Nick Johnston is running the fundraiser for our local.
